Just what you've been waiting for!

A collection of concept art and bonus chapters conveniently gathered in one place. This collection is ideal for readers who prefer print books or purchased the e-books on other retailers.

There are 6-12 concept art pieces for each book, for a total of 70 images! (Along with extra teasers for Rise of the Kelpies)

Note: The majority of the images are in color. If your e-reader does not display color, you can also view the e-book on a browser using the Bookfunnel app. However, given the historical nature of these novels, the black and white images are still lovely to see.

For the bonus chapters included, you'll get:

  • Snow White's Mirror: Epilogue
  • Beauty's Rose: Prequel and the 1796 version of Beauty and the Beast
  • Sleeping Beauty's Spindle: Alternate POV chapter
  • The Little Mermaid's Voice: Epilogue

(Any Cinderella bonuses were already included in the respective books, both print and ebook sold with the current covers.)

Prologue

Welcome dear reader to the bonus content for books #1-6 and novella #1 of the Fairy-tale Inheritance Series.

Here you’ll find the extras I’ve made over the years including a prequel, several epilogues, an alternate POV (point of view) chapter, and my favorites images from the AI art I’ve generated.

The bonus chapter for Cinderella’s Dress has already been incorporated into the re-issue, so I’m not repeating it here. (Some history: the original publication of DRESS in 2014 was missing the scene with Adalbert and Elsie moving the trunk out of Europe, which is now Chapter 1.)

The bonus for Cinderella’s Shoes eventually grew to become the novella Cinderella’s Legacy, so there is no need to include that scene either. And I already included the epilogue for Cinderella’s Legacy in that book right from the beginning. Therefore, all the Cinderella books are complete as is, aside from the added artwork, which you’ll find here.

For the other books in the series, you’ll find their bonus chapters inserted after the concept art for that book.

Going forward, now that I have my own online bookstore (!), I plan to include bonus content right in the ebooks, exclusively for those ebooks sold on my store, a thank-you for supporting me directly.

And for those of you who prefer print books, but still want to read the bonuses, I’ll continue providing links to bonus content like usual. Then at the end of a series (or in segments), I’ll package them up in one convenient spot for you.

Chapter 1

One of the first idea sparks I had for writing Cinderella’s Dress was seeing the dress inside a department store window. I didn’t know what else was going to happen in the novel, but somehow, I had to get Cinderella’s dress on display.

*art will appear in the actual book; this is a text-only box

Here is the first concept art I created for the dress on display. The black and white street scene makes the dress pop! I think of the young woman standing in front of the dress as being Kate, deep in thought, but she could just as easily be a shopper, mesmerized by the dress.

This full-color rendition includes a clock and many, many single shoes. Not a pair in sight.

One with the dress alone. It looks like Kate might be peeking in from behind the window display.

[CD-Kate-and-Josie-windowshop.jpg]

Is that Kate and Josie doing some window shopping?

[CD-mannequin-in-rainy-store-window.jpg]

A mannequin in the window of Harmon-Craig Department store on the night Kate poses. I was trying to create Kate in the window, but the figure turned out looking more like a mannequin.

Here we have a little girl mesmerized by one of the Cinderella windows.

Sweet Adalbert and Elsie. I tried several times to come up with the image I had in my head for them. and this is the best of the bunch. This is one of my favorite scenes in the novel.

Lastly, I made a prompt to create a movie poster for the novel. This is the image without the title because at the time I created it, the AI programs were unable to add proper words to the images.

What about scenes with Kate and Johnny? I tried. Believe me, I tried. Nothing turned out the way I imagined them, and I was beginning to think they would be best left to our imaginations when I got this image:

[CD-Kate-modeling.jpg]

Hmm….close. But Kate is too stiff, even for this scene, and Johnny a touch too old?

I kept trying, and was finally able to get something “close” to Kate and Johnny in scenes from Cinderella’s Shoes.

Meet the author:

SHONNA SLAYTON grew up in the mountains of beautiful British Columbia before moving to the Arizona desert. Though her house doesn't yet have a turret, there is a kitchen garden with potential....anyone have rapunzel seeds to share?

She writes stories inspired by fairy tales and history for readers who love to escape into other worlds that are grounded in truth, dusted with magic, and created for whimsical wanderings. In essence, a perfect weekend or beach read.

Her signature series features magical heirlooms passed down through generations, just like the necklace in this picture. This was her grandmother's favorite necklace, probably because it goes with everything and brings up warm memories.
